From the Wild to the Potter (从野人到陶人)
My transformation from a wild man into a potter has been an indispensable journey in my life.
In 1997, I was fortunate to come under the care and guidance of Master Liu Weiren, under whose tutelage I spent decades learning and refining my craft. Through his teachings and personal example, I was inspired and determined to develop pottery into a lifelong vocation.
To showcase the versatility and expressive potential of clay, as well as the enduring strength and permanence of ceramic art, my works are founded upon simple lines and natural movement, complemented by the use of indigenous Malaysian clay.
We bear witness to the rich cultural heritage carried forward by generations of Eastern and Western masters, whose traditions continue to converge, intertwine, and enrich one another.
Guided by the teachings and wisdom imparted by Master Liu Weiren, I remain committed to preserving and carrying forward the art of pottery, ensuring that this cherished tradition continues to flourish for generations to come.
